A History of Ingxotha

His Majesty, King Zwelithini Goodwill kaBhekuzulu is the reigning monarch of one of the world’s richest cultural kingdoms: the Zulu Royal Kingdom.

He is the eighth monarch in the royal Zulu line and his 35-year reign is the longest ever in the history of the Zulu people. As patriarch of the 11-million Zulu people, he is the custodian of centuries of tradition.

From this proud legacy emanates the Royal Council of InGxotha, presided over by His Majesty, the Royal Zulu King.

The Royal Council of InGxotha, established by King Shaka Zulu, is a sacred Zulu ceremony in which the bravest of the brave warriors were celebrated for their gifts to community, society and humanity at large, and for their commitment to the protection and wellbeing of their people.

Today, the Royal Council honours citizens of the world who show exceptional leadership, courage, strength, determination and endurance: the qualities of a Zulu warrior.
